How to identify whether I need Dermal Fillers?
Once a patient visits our practice, we do a full 3D evaluation using the Vectra 3D imaging software.
This identifies the areas patients lack in volume, including the boney structure of the face. Once the defects are identified, we provide the filler options available.
What are the Dermal Fillers I can use?
The options available are as follows:
– Hyaluronic acid fillers
– Restylane
– Juvéderm
Also available are collagen-stimulating fillers such as Sculptra and Radiesse.
How to identify which Filler is suitable for me?
This depends on the patient and the timeline the patient has to get the fillers done.

What is Restylane?
Restylane is a family of fillers that have been improved in the United States since the early 2000s. It was the very first filler FDA-approved in the United States. It remains one of my favorite fillers today.
What are the two different technologies in Restylane?
Within the Restylane family, two different technologies exist. They are NASHA technology and XpresHAn technology of Restylane fillers.
The NASHA technology of Restylane fillers encompasses Restylane-L, Restylane Lyft, and Restylane Silk. Those fillers contain microparticles that are excellent in filling out structural defects and give predictable results when injected into a certain area and fill out the volume deficit.
The XpresHAn technology of Restylane fillers is a novel spring-like technology that allows Restylane to refine and define fillers that belong to this new XpresHAn technology.
Where can Restylane be used?
It gives a beautiful result in areas that are prone to movements such as the nasolabial folds and marionette lines. By the virtue of the spring-like nature of these fillers, they are not visible and incorporate beautifully into the tissue.

Juvéderm (Voluma XC, Ultra XC, Ultra Plus XC, Vollure)
Juvéderm, and all the products under the Juvéderm name, are hyaluronic acid gels that are injected underneath the skin to instantly smooth wrinkles and folds. They may be for the nasolabial folds, marionette lines, vertical lip lines, chin wrinkles, or other imperfections on the facial area that are contributing to an aging appearance. These dermal fillers are designed for integration into the skin and to mold to your specific facial contours, adapting to the individuality of the skin for natural results.
Radiesse (for face + for hands), Sculptra, and Kybella
Other options include Radiesse, which can provide enhancement of even the hands. Sculptra is a volume filler available for volume loss in the cheeks. For patients dealing with submental fullness, Kybella is used in our practice to combat double chin.
